When they first approached Lucas about a signature pedal not only did he know exactly what sounds he wanted, but he also knew exactly what he wanted to call it.
The Le Habanero is a combination Boost and Fuzz pedal. Lucas insisted that both sides clean up when the guitar's volume was backed off, and that the tone retained its sparkle when you turned down. This makes both sides very musical and very controllable without even touching the pedal.
The Boost side has wide sweeping treble / bass controls, gain, volume controls and features plenty of headroom. It stays clean until about 12 o'clock on the gain control after which you get gradually increasing breakup. Push the front end of the boost for a clear sustain with plenty of note definition.
The Fuzz side was very carefully tweaked to Lucas' taste. It has Volume and Fuzz controls, as well as a unique two-pole filter circuit and deep switch. It features loads of gain and sustain, but most importantly cleans up with the volume control without loosing the top end.
The Boost and Fuzz can be used independently, but the real magic happens when you stack them. The Boost tames the wildness of the Fuzz and creates endless sustain with loads of harmonics.
