S-4 Sculpting Sampler

The S-4 is a sculpting sampler designed to capture and transform sounds. Merging
tape-era workflows with cutting-edge technology, the S-4 redefines sound mangling by providing a futuristic platform for crafting unique soundscapes and compositions,
using samples and real-time audio processing.

S-4 is a tool made for sonic explorers. It has four parallel stereo tracks, each with an
audio engine featuring a chain of audio devices including samplers, live granular
processing, morphing resonators, and a range of audio effects. A novel modulation
system allows anything and everything to be modulated with 4 modulators per track.
Capture sounds on the fly with the onboard microphone and stereo line input, or load
samples from the four gigabyte internal flash storage.

Perform

Perform adds the ability to create global macros, enabling control of
multiple parameters across the entire instrument simultaneously. Any
parameter can be mapped to eight performance knobs and four punch-in
effect buttons, allowing transformative changes with a single gesture.

Scene

Scene enables saving and instantly launching parameter and sample
snapshots. Full machine states can be saved, variations built, moments
captured, and samples swapped on the fly. Up to 128 scenes are available
per project, controllable directly on the device or via MIDI Program Change.

Temp

Temp brings performance functionality with temporary control of all
parameters. When temp is enabled, S-4 saves the initial state and snaps
back instantly when released.

Disc

Disc is a new sample playback device that streams audio directly from S-4’s
internal storage, enabling playback of long-form audio files. Ideal for
full-length stems, field recordings, or long loops, Disc is only limited by
available storage space.

Follow

Follow has been added to the list of modulation devices – an envelope
follower that uses the amplitude of any of the four track outputs, or the
S-4’s inputs, to modulate parameters – enabling dynamic, responsive
modulation.
